Affordable and assessable child care is an integral part of the Council Bluffs' economy. Quality child care facilities enables

businesses in Council Bluffs to recruit employees, reduce turnover and absenteeism, and increase productivity.  They also

ensures a strong economy for the future and will generate a significant income, job-creating industry in its own right.

Family child care homes located in residential neighborhoods are not as visible as the big chain day care centers, but many

families find home-based child care alleviates some of the barriers they face in finding quality child care.

          • Family child care is usually less expensive
          • Parents can walk their children to day care
          • School age children can walk to their neighborhood schools
          • Infant care is more readily available

We want to thank the Iowa West Foundation for supporting quality child care and early childhood education.
